#amaryllis #abouttobloom #first-flower-ever #firsttimeblooming #amaryllis-ferrari-red #ferrari-red-amaryllis #amaryllis-ferrarired This is my third year to have this 'Ferrari Red' amaryllis. It got red blotch the first year and didn't bloom... It didn't get not one bloom last year.... But look at it this year! #blooms
#patience. Thank goodness you didn't discard it. 😍
It's going to be gorgeous! Mine has just gone over
I know Susan... I'm glad I didn't either. I just kept it... And low and behold... We have blooms this year! Yay! @novicegardenlover
Thank you @lesliecole49 I'm super excited! Looks like it has tons of blooms too.!
Thank you @gjones I can't wait! I'm sure when I walk into the kitchen this morning... Blooms will be everywhere on her!
They typically have 4 blooms per stalk and open one at a time, if you're lucky all 4 will be open at the same time. Even after it dies back you can keep it in the same pot, lightly watered and will come back year after year. Unless you "force" it for a holiday, such as Christmas, it will gradually revert back to its normally spring/summer bloom time. Living in tx you could probly put it in the ground. I have 2 now. I like to buy them after Christmas when they get marked down.
They produce viable seeds also
Thank you @lesliecole49 I had no idea about the seed or that you could force them. Thanks for the #amaryllis-advice ❤❤😘😘

Those are so beautiful. Up in Michigan I guess because it’s such a different zone they always bloom Mid-March-April. They call it,The Easter flower. There great and just so pretty. I’m so surprised at all your stuff and sooo happy for you Punky🤗🤗🤗👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😘😘😘😊💕
Awww...thank you Terri! Sad to say my amariyllis got red blotch and lost its bloom. I didn't get to see it open...it turned brown. @terrimclaughlin
