Elaeocarpus ganitrus

Tbt to earlier this summer when I saw this beautiful Rudraksh in bloom at a local nursery. They couldn't sell it because the plant had put down roots, and it being a plant important in Hinduism, they decided to let it grow. I finally received one of my own in the mail yesterday and can't wait for it to flower. Grows at the foothills of the Himalayas amongst other places. #rudraksh #newongt #new

The tree bears fruit which are made into beads, worn round the neck.

Thanks @gjones 🙂 that's the beauty of nature - it always comes up trumps where surprises are concerned. We used to have one of these years ago. But it died after we moved. One of my mum's favourites.
