Not long now, Jane 😊 how many varieties of bees do you observe in your area? I don't know my bees very well, but I like bumblebees because they look friendly and cute and cuddly. We don't get them here, not that I'm aware of. @pelly

I find that the more I prune this tree, @latebloomer , the more profusely it flowers. Super bee friendly

We get Bumble, Honey, Solitary and Masonry bees Pushkraj, there may be more but these are the ones I can recognise. @Pushkraj 🐝🐝

This reminds me so much of the Californian Tree poppy, probably related somehow. Lovely flowers 👌🏼

In terms of looks, this is as close as I get to camellias @brightcolours @Keely

Unless you count the tiny begonias which are like miniature camellias 😍

They do well in my subtropical climate but I don't have a fried egg tree. The local Botanical Gardens does though.

Aptly called the Fried egg tree, this humongous flower is native to Africa. The flower lasts about a day and is mildly fragrant! ☀️ #tree #rare #flower #white #africa
