Can anyone please help me identify this plant or weed??? I think it flowers a purple color, and the leaves look spotted with a real deeper color in the middle. It may be hard to see that in the pictures though. I'm not sure if I should pull them out or not. Thank you all! #plantid #plantid- #advice
@rachellescott @Acetaker boy oh boy you got me! I've seen weeds with leaves like this but no weeds with flowers like this! But as of yet I don't know! Maybe when the flowers open! Sorry!!💘😍
Thank you so much for pointing me to the right direction of "Persicaria" plants @cyndi 😊. Cyndi, @Acetaker, @ShelleySnyder, @lovestogarden, I found the plant "Spotted Lady's Thumb", under Persicaria plants, which looks exactly like my plants. I am still confused a bit, as to if it's under "Smart weeds" as it is, is it really a weed or not? I have found comments that differ from one another. Also, a silly question, but what is the difference between a wild flower and a weed that flowers?
A noxious weed is another story. It is a plant that is harmful in your environment. For example, a Big Sage/Lantana is a noxious weed in Australia, but I buy them, because in my environment they do not multiply and take over. Each state/country has a list of these weeds and we should be aware of ours as to not plant them in our gardens.
@rachellescott What I consider a weed is one that I don't want growing and taking over my garden. There are many 'Wildflowers' that can make your garden full of flowers and foliage that will last for yrs or just the season. There are herbals u can grow out now your garden, which some who don't know what they are..consider it a weed. But,in all it's what you prefer in your garden and the time u want to place in it for a show. I hope that this was helpful and I explained it to where it helped.😍😍
What great insight, knowledge, and lovely opinions you all have on weeds VS flowers! I loved reading all your comments, and now I see gardening in such a more special way, and have learned a lot too. Thank you all for taking the time to answer my question! @Acetaker @cyndi @lovestogarden

😀 My opinion is that a weed is what you do not want growing where it is growing. One person's weed is another person's flower.

Nice, Rachelle. Your garden is yours to enjoy. Others will always tell you right and wrong, but just smile and do what you want. ❤
