Another delicate beauty amongst the bee seeds. Any ideas? PlantID #beeflower
Looks like Linum viscosum or Sticky Flax. What a pretty flower -- so #veiny
@emch when looking up #stickyflax it is defo this. Couldn’t find it on encyclopaedia though 😝
You can always add it to the encyclopedia @RaeRyan22 ! I've had to do it many times...
@emch that’s a very daunting prospect. I’ll have to give it a go 😂
Well all you have to do is tap "ADD TO ENCYCLOPEDIA" or whatever it says, then add the botanical name to the top line and the cultivar or common name to the bottom line on the little blank form the pops up. Then save it.
Next is the annoying part! You then have to close out the app, go back in, go to your feed where your plant will be waiting still to be named and click the little pencil at upper R above the photo. One of the choices will be "ADD ENCYCLOPEDIA LINK." Tap that and enter the name of the plant. 99 times out of 100 the name you just added will appear on a list of similar items so you can choose the correct name for your plant. Done!
As I just learned this week, it doesn't always work out. I searched over and over for "Green" Sempervivum and when nothing like that came up for me to choose, I added it. Then when I went back in to name the plant it had refused to add it to the database. @KariSamuel finally explained that I had to search for the exact wording someone else had entered, Sempervivum STANDARD Green. That choice didn't appear on the list when I searched, so meh
@emch - You don't have to close out of the app. Tap on your picture that says unidentified plant & type in the same name. It should be in the encyclopedia already! 🤷‍♀️ Time for a tutorial i believe with so many new members... @teamgardentags - Can this be worked on?
@KariSamuel I have tried it more than one way and what I described is the only method that works...
