Looks gorgeous! So are the scale insects gone? What worked in the end? ☺

Hey. I tried the wiping them off thing but the bush it so prickly and wild was hard to get in there properly. So to not much effect. Bug spray didn’t work either. After it’s flower it needs a good cut back this year. Hopefully I can get to them then.

Hi guys. Happy Bank holiday Weekend! Wahoo! So went to watch the bees this morning on my rose and noticed all these mottled little lumps attached the the stalks? Any idea what they could be and are they going to harm the rose? #whatisit #infestation #fungus #egg #pest #rose

Looks like scale bugs , they’re sap suckers Rachel, get rid 🔫🔫💣

I'd wash them off with a wet cloth to make sure there's none left and then spray with insecticide. Just make sure the insecticide says it's effective of scale bugs and greenflies. Other people on here might help suggest organic methods.

Thanks @juliesgarden and @ublaszko It’s a huge tree/shrub and the spikes on this thing are lethal. I’ve sprayed them to bits and they just seem to shimmy on over night to another deeper within the tree. Argh.

I've had scales on my fatsia japonica and I read you need to wipe them off with a wet cloth. The insecticide didn't seem to do anything for me either. Not sure how you're supposed to do it on a spiky large shrub 😨

Check out the info on the RHS website for products that target brown scale. I think this is the pest you're dealing with.

The most fragrant scented rose in the garden! I wish we could video on here. The bees go mad in these roses and the pollen released in the air is the sweetest thing I have ever come across! #rugosa #whiterugosa #rose #white #scented #scent

Rosa white rugosa has gone a bit out of control...how do you prune it so it still comes back strong next year but not totally bald. #lastoftheflower #endofflower #rosarugosa #white #outofcontrol #help

Help me identify this plant...spiky tree of doom is in flower. Actually very pretty. Is it a type of rose?
