So recently I’ve noticed my bright pink saxifrage going pale. Today it was wilted. I went to check her out and the underneath has gone brown and brittle. The roots are lifted and the woodlice are having a field day. Can anyone help? Please don’t tell me this is the dreaded #vineweevil !!??? #help #dyingplant #saxifragecare

So I just dug her up a bit and shook off the soil...no grubs or bugs. Soil wasn’t too dry or too wet. I’m confused 🤔

I’d be inclined to tidy it up and plant it in a pot and see how it goes and dig around a bit more where it came from.

Yes, I would too, plant it a bit deeper so it will rejuvenate it

What's happening to my Saxifrage? ☹️ The first picture are the 2 together. One poorly and the other well. The second shows the poorly one up close, it has gone dry, crisp and brown at the bottom. #dying #dyingplant #saxifrage #help

First off, try the tug test, if it comes up easily it could be #vineweevil grubs. Dig it up remove all compost or soil into a bin, remove all dead or dying. And repot. You may end up with numerous uprooted plants but it is possible to save. 😊

Oh poo. Luckily it's only these two potted up around the front of the house. They've not been near anything else. I'll empty them both out and see what happens. Might just bin the dying one and try and save the healthy. Thanks for the advice @hayleyaj

I found #vineweevil grubs in a #parsley that I'd overwintered!😡 they get everywhere! Hope it's not, maybe just a poorly stem that can be removed 😊

@hayleyaj oh I hope it's not #vineweevil ...if it is I have some plants in pots in the back garden I've overwintered...do you reckon I should give them a fresh lot of compost as well in case?
