Kalanchoe Tomentosa 'Chocolate Soldier'

1/31/20 when I last left here my #kalanchoetomentosa was near death. It had flowered and withered to literally a stick. Well, it very obviously came back! Not as hardy or large. The leaves are small and very stress-colored. Three new flower buds are popping up too. Love it! #kalanchoetomentosachocolatesoldier #succulents

I have heard of this happening, but haven’t experienced it for myself yet, thankfully!

@treefrog44 @KelsiBriana @bpetty55 thanks! Yeah unfortunately that was my thought because I had a key lime pie succulent do the EXACT same thing. Stalk straight from the middle, beautiful blooms, and then a dead parent plant. Such is life. It is a little sad though. This is one of my pioneers! My original plants of my garden! Sad to see it go, but it’s lived a beautiful life

@treefrog44 @lovestogarden unfortunately with this one I won’t even bother. Any time I’ve ever tried to prop any fuzzy succulent it hasn’t worked. I leave everything outside and let nature take its course, and I think for fuzzies I need to take a little more care while they prop. I see them so often that maybe I’ll pick another up

Oh, I understand. The fuzzy ones seem to root easily.

I love how even the flower stalk is covered with brown fuzz😆 Definitely one of my favorite kalanchoes😃

Right?! This is my favorite succulent hands down and I’m honestly a little worried it’ll die after it flowers (the only succulents I ever had flower aside from string of tears died afterwards! We will see!)
