Magnolia liliflora 'Nigra'. Photographed today, 3 May 2017, at Reedie Cottage Garden, East Scotland. Flowers only just started to open on this Magnolia. Start off really dark, gradually lightening to pale pink as season progresses. Lovely being able to sit and look at this shrub, thru the French doors, when working indoors. Covered this year in more flowers and buds than previous years. Think due to having such a mild Winter. Anyone else experienced this with other plants???
