Physocarpus opulifolius 'Lady in Red'. Photographed yesterday, 3 June 2017, at Reedie Cottage Gardens, East Scotland. Also know as Ninebark 'Lady in Red'. A hardy shrub with rich bright red foliage, which has attractive dense small pale pink flowers that are star shaped. @reedie-cottsge What a beauty. I have this & the foliage is beautiful. I only planted it last year it has grown a lot but I don't know if it will flower or not this year. The flowers are an added bonus. It's a really lovely pic thanks for posting.

@angipangi I love the colour of the foliage on this shrub, and the flowers are an added bonus 😀 I have Physocarpus opulifolius 'Diablo' at the back of one of the long borders, which also has spectacular foliage. However, the flowers on 'Diablo' are more prominent, and all the nicer for that. I've also got Physocarpus opulifolius 'Darts Gold' in the gardens, and the foliage is great as a backdrop for other brightly colored plants, but the flowers on 'Dart's Gold', almost disappear amongst the fo
