Primula Denticulate (Drumstick Primula). Photographed today, 27 Mar 2017, at Reedie Cottage Garden, East Scotland. Locally Primula Denticulate are known as "Kirrie Dumplings". I don't know the etymology of this name, other than from this extract from the Scottish National Dictionary - Kirriemuir, where they appear to be commonly grown, and dumpling, from the rounded shape. I love these Primulas as they come in white all the way thru to deep ruby. #spring #primulas #mauve-lilac #kirrie-dumpling
