Rodgersia podophylla (Rodgers' bronze-leaf). Photographed today, 21 May 2017, at Reedie Cottage Garden, East Scotland. This is moisture-loving, clump-forming herbaceous perennial, which has jaggedly-lobed palmate leaves, bronze when young and turn reddish-bronze in Autumn, and arching panicles of small creamy-white flowers in late summer. Pictured down by the pond, with a mixture of blue and black irises in the foreground. #rodgersia #podophylla #bronzefoliage #reediecottagegarden
Rodgersia podophylla. Photographed yesterday, 3 June 2017, at Reedie Cottage Gardens, East Scotland. Foliage starting to get really big and a lovely bronze-green in colour. During the Summer tall flower spikes will appear, with small, star-shaped, cream flowers in large conical panicles. They will be followed by showy fruits. Covers a large area down by the pond in "The Secret Garden". #rodgersia #podophylla #bronzegreenfolliage #creamflowers #thesecretgarden #reediecottagegarden
