My Nikko blue is definitely not blue anymore. But, I didn't expect a bloom this first year at all so I'll take it! Do any of the soil amendments actually work to change bloom color?

My blue hydrangea was a light blue till I gave it coffee grinds. It became a nice color. I feed my pink one egg shells. This is it's first year and was tiny. So no blooms yet. Haven't had to try the store bought stuff yet.

@ofthought I bought this in a 6" pot in May and was warned that it may not bloom for a year or two. It's 4x it's original size with 2 blooms! Apparently it's happy but I might try the coffee grounds. Would azalea like this too?

@rennezoe I currently have a hate relationship with azaleas as their root system has invaded my sunny wall location for flowers. Going to have to dig everything up in spring and till if we can get it in there. Already cut bushes down by 1/3 in middle of summer when I found their roots while planting something. Sorry for not being helpful. Beware of the azalea getting too big!
