Second spring in our home in MT, zone 4b. Can't wait to see what comes back. Lots to learn but loving the folks at GT!

@kimguy @ofthought Thank you. I had visions of the Wisteria growing over the fence but it's looking kind of puny! Only 2 of the branches are attempting to be vines. Its gonna take more than that 😂

Wisteria I believe is invasive in my area may not have to worry about it.

@ofthought the Chinese and Japanese wisteria are terribly invasive. This is an American wisteria... Is supposed to be a much friendlier vine. That's what they say, anyway. We'll see

Lower left is the Kentucky wisteria i planted this spring. I feel like this fence meets the criteria for 'sturdy support ' and i planned for it to eventually replace the honeysuckle/prunus . But I'm reading that the Kentucky wisteria is nearly as invasive as Chinese/ Japanese varieties. Should I dig it up and try it in a pot while I have the chance?? Any GT folks with experience?

I believe there are a couple of non-invasive varities. Summer and Amythist Falls(probably spelling that incorrectly). Summer is an evergreen variety.

Soneone gave me a few pointers on here I can't remember who. I have a Japanese on for 13 or so years and never has bloomed but grows crazy every where. Pointer where to not let the branches touch the ground ,keep it tied up and to fertilize. I wish I knew what this did before hand. I still can't get mine to bloom or to get control or rid of it. They are absolutely beautiful and smell amazing. But I can't get either from it. Good luck.
