The mother plants are looking so much healthier compared to last year (scroll left on the photo to look at previous pics) - I think potting them on did wonders. And they are the biggest now they have ever been 😀💪🏼 I’m still not 100% certain on the ID - they have always been small, beautiful markings and produce pups very frequently at such a small size. I guessed Agave Zebra but would welcome any other suggestions 😊👍🏼

Whilst looking in the growhouse this morning, I remembered I’d potted on these pups from my mystery Agave last summer and forgot to bring them back indoors 😱 - but they look ok at the moment so i might leave them now. It might toughen them up a bit 🥊 💪🏼 #succulentsunday #agave #succulentsunday-agave #agave-baby #agave-propagation #succulent

I posted some pics of this last night from 9 months ago, where it had been very neglected and dehydrated (my bad! Scroll back through for evidence 🙄) but thought I'd take some new pics this morning as it's come on really well, and it's producing new offsets too. I'm thinking this deserves a nice shallow terracotta pot in the spring #succulent #plantid #plantid-succulent

Isn't it great when plants survive despite our neglect?! It looks really healthy now 👏🏻😊

Quite neglected and dehydrated Agave from last year (as seen in this pic) but I have improved my cacti parenting since then 😊 - I know this is an Agave but not sure which. It's very small (not really got bigger than this in the 25 years I've had it. A school friend of mine passed on to me a baby and it's got to about 20-25 cm in diameter. Interesting markings on it, someone previously mentioned Agave zebra but wasn't sure. Can anyone help ID this? #succulent #plantid #plantid-succulent

@richard.spicer.7906 Richard do you have a ginger plant,I bought a bulb or root at Harrogate last year and it has 6 shoots coming through and I wondered what it will look like

No, not currently. I tried to grow one a couple of years but was unsuccessful. Coincidently I was at the garden centre today and saw a ginger root in the bulb display and wondered whether I should give it another go but left it for now. Glad you have shoots, that's further than I got 😀👍🏼 @KatieCat

Thanks @SikoMa @gjones as always, I've been reading so much today on Agaves (good job really as at home off work due to sickness and trying to keep myself amused 😆) - I think it's very difficult to tell as it's still quite young, but in the end I decided to go with Agave zebra as I'd read some reviews that this plant unusually produces quite a lot of offsets whilst still quite young itself. Although I've had the plant about 25 years, I can't remember if I ever replaced the mother plant before..

(Cont) ... it got to big and just kept babies. Either way, this time round I will do the reverse and pot up into bigger pot and see how big it gets. Also, Agave zebra has tendency to have curved spines where's the others may be a bit straighter. But as it grows I will keep in my head that potentially it might be one of the others. Thanks again 😊👍🏼

My neglected Agaves, which I've had for about 25 years now. They are a bit stunted. The mother plant was amazing and my friend gave me these babies when I was a teenager. Really will try harder with my #houseplants this year 😳. Anyone know what type of Agave they are?
