Before Christmas I planted up some giant shallow clay pots from my front porch which had pelargoniums in all last summer. I don’t think I’ve ever made a pot bulb lasagne (as I prefer to keep them single) but I found a few items on sale I really liked but couldn’t afford any more pots so thought I’d give it a go.
So first layer is these Allium karataviense ‘Ivory Queen’..... #bulb #allium #allium-karataviense #alliumkarataviense #alliumkaratavienseivoryqueen #turkestanonion #bulblasagna #bulblasagne
I also did a couple of lasagne! One with miniatures and then two the same with the grandsons which have gone to Manchester. They have a problem with squirrels so we have tied green netting round the top to hopefully keep them off! Mine is coming along nicely, will post a photo tomorrow
Oh that’s a shame Joan - I wonder why that could have been? I’ve not had too much a problem, although I had a couple that did just one year and then never came back @joanb
I’m sure you could Angie - would just need to pick the right type and combo, probably would need extra care with watering as it would be hotter in summer. Maybe some crocosmia (or Acidanthera), Eucomis and those drumstick alliums which flower quite later than other alliums 🤔 lilies would be good, but not sure if you avoid those because of Prudence @angiecrazycatlady

@richard.spicer.7906 I look forward to the pics, my alliums didn't take in the one I did last winter.

I've never tried this, could you put summer bulbs in too 🤔
