Oh my! I love this! IS this too large to grow in a pot?? @richard.spicer.7906

Hmm, 🤔 I might be possible? It certainly won’t get as big but I think it will be fine. Just prob need to make sure it doesn’t dry out completely, and the bigger the pot the better. Mine is large and grows in my dry border currently about 7ft x 7ft big, but it prob has roots that go deep looking for water @tinaaune (sorry for late reply 🙄)

14/06/19 - my orange ball buddleja is alive with blooms. Attracts lots of bees 🐝 (haven’t ever really seen butterfly’s on it) - I counted quite a few resting on here the other evening after a torrential downpour, but fortunately they had all dried off by the following morning. It’s only 3-4 years old and already six foot tall. Has a different pruning regime to normal buddleja and tends to be evergreen in my garden #buddleja #buddleja-globosa #orangeballtree

Lovely isn’t it? You get quite a lot of flowers too. Flowers on last year’s wood rather than current years I think, so haven’t yet been brave enough to prune it yet in case I get it wrong 🤭🙈 @rachelbrooks

Quite a unique one JP, and such a vibrant colour. Don’t see them that often either which is a shame as I think they are as equally nice as the normal Buddleja’s @jpea

This Buddleja globosa finished flowering about 2 weeks ago, but whilst it was blooming it was a great bee magnet 🐝🐝🐝 #buddleja #buddleja-globosa #orangeballtree

It's a great one Melanie 😀👍🏼. The first time I saw this was on tv, BBC gardeners world, about 10 years ago and I promised myself I would get one as soon as I had the space. It has grown already to over 1.5 metres tall in the 2 years I've had it. Slightly different pruning regime to Buddleja davidii too @MelanieAt

You are right about them being bee magnets. I tried counting bees on ours last year and gave up. There were easily a few hundred and many different types of bumble bees and honey bees.

Evening, home from my little break now and that means only one thing - it's Plant Diary time! 🤓 Here is a new butterfly bush I've planted, Buddleja globosa, which has lovely yellow orange ball shaped blooms in summer. Hope the butterflies like it. Planted 15th November #buddleja #buddleja-globosa #orangeballtree
