Having a little break ☕️ from bulb planting and walking round the garden - amongst the weeds there are some little (and big) beauties flowering at the moment. This canna is already twice the size from last year. Lovely pale #orange colouring #canna #cannamadameangelemartin
I want to do mine this week...do you use any special bulb digging tools? (Monty was using a useful looking on on gardeners world)
I wish I had a bulb planter but as Monty said a spade is good enough and that's what I use. Thank goodness Gardener's World is on u-tube as I never get to see it on the TV. ☺
Nah, no special tools for me, I just use a small hand trowel if planting straight in the soil. For pots it's easier as you just put them on a layer of soil and cover 👍🏼😊 @belindah @belindanesbitt
I'm about to plant mine in the lawn so I think I'm going to need something.

One of my favourite Cannas - 'Madame Angèle Martin' - has had a disaster this year, and unfortunately it suffered from heavy rot in the spring. I'd virtually given up on it but after removing it from its original pot at the beginning of July, I found a tiny piece of healthy rhizome and potted it up in a small pot, keeping it slightly moist (not overwater). And today I'm delighted that it's got a healthy new shoot 😊🙏🏼 i might just have saved it #canna #cannamadameangelemartin #survivor
Yay! 👏👏👏👏 Lets hope so Rich

Fantastic! 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Fingers crossed for you. Can anyone show me a picture of a erythronium please ?
Hi @wenz - click discover at the bottom of your screen, then click the search/magnifying glass symbol in the top right corner, and then type 'Erythronium' - you can then toggle between 'Plants' or 'Tags' to pictures of this plant that members have posted 😊👍🏼
@wenz - alternatively, click following at the bottom of your screen, then click the book/encyclopaedia symbol in top left corner and then you can search the database for entry's that match 'Erythronium' - just checked myself and there are a few with pictures. You can select any and it will give you more info on each.
