Chionodoxa sardensis syn. Scilla sardensis

My last bulb order arrived on Friday, rather late and unfortunately many refunded as they were not viable. I think the growing conditions of many bulbs last year were not good and my supplier tried hard to find supplies but called me to say they’ll have to cancel half the order. Was a shame as I there were some quite unusual ones on the way. I did get some new crocus (species), cyclamen, triteleia, ornithogalum and muscari (species) - and also these chionodoxa - hopefully they are true as this

⬆️ (cont) particular one is often mislabelled - the flowers of sardensis do not have any white centres like other chionodoxa so let’s see what comes up! 🙈 #chionodoxa

I just bought some ornithogalum balansae. Looks like it's going to be a pretty one! I'm on the lookout for those dwarf chionodoxas. Last year I had the giant ones but didn't like it. They had a weird neither pink nor white colour. I think the blue ones stand out better.

Yes, hope these are the right ones. I quite like my violet ones too but your right it wasn’t as deep a blue as I thought it was going to be. That’s why I thought I’d try these. This current supplier has been good so far, never had a mislabelled bulb so far in the three years I’ve used them. More expensive but I think much more reliable. I saw you bought those Ornithogalum - I just planted Ornithogalum nutans today, which arrived on Friday. So hope we both have some lovely flowers 😄 @ublaszko

I think the blue ones are my favourite and then the violet ones but not sure I'd bother with pink ones again. My giant pink turned out quite floppy as well but I'm guessing the lesser ones are more upright? I bought my ornithogalum in bud so I should have flowers soon. Just waiting for the cold spell to go away. I also bought scilla siberica in bud which is supposed to be intense blue 💙😍😍😍

Sounds nice - I think the lesser ones are deeper blue, with darker flowering stalk. I think a bit like your Scilla siberica 👍🏼 @ublaszko
