I love my wild thistles - the flowers always look beautiful, and great for pollinators 🐝🐝 - every gardener should keep at least a few 😊 #wildflower #thistle

Hurray, someone else who likes them. I love thistles and heather.
With you 👌🏻 always thought it the perfect plant for us Up North 😂 a Wee bit prickly, but stunning if you look deeper 🤔😂😜

Spiky! 😳 #thistle #wildflower
always referred to these as Spear Thistles - can anyone confirm? (Scroll through photos for flowers from last year to help) 🤔🤓
👌🏻
Dont know why but thistles appeal to me 🤔
As a child we all had billy hooks and went in line cutting them down in the fields where the cattle grazed😂
Gorgeous detail 😀
Me too @fuschia - they catch my arms and legs all the time but I keep thinking about how much the bees and butterflies will benefit from it 😊
Ya know I think I did that a few times too. I used to work on a dairy farm as a teenager and was sent out by the farmer occasionally to remove certain plants from the fields where the herds grazed. @kathy

Another beneficial thistle that a lot of people consider as weeds. This flower is a rich nectar source for a number of bees and butterflies. It's also the national flower of Scotland! 😀
Lovely 2 look at richard, but i hate the spines 😉
@jacra they are a bit spitefall aren't they!
😂yes they are, still lovely tho.
