Clematis viticella - I'm no clematis expert, but I'm convinced this old one in my garden is the straight species and not a cultivar. And I find it self-seeds around the garden, coming true from seed. Any clematis experts out there who can help validate my thoughts on this? #clematis #clematis-viticella

Could well be straight viticella if it comes true from seed

...and the good thing about this one is the flowers hang downwards, so they still manage to look so beautiful and delicate in the rain 💦 #clematis #clematis-viticella

I don't Jack, no sorry. It was here when i moved into the house. The previous owners had lived here all there lives for for 50+ years and so it could be one that was planted in the sixties or seventies. It grows all over the garden through the hedges, fences and other plants. For ages i've been trying to identify it - the species Viticella is the nearest i've got!

I think I've finally discovered the name of my mystery Clematis. It might be the original species Clemetis Viticella. What do we think GT'ers? #clematis #clematis-viticella

This is a lovely, rampant Clematis which is growing by the back door. Has lovely delicate purple flowers. Not sure of specific variety.
