Hmm, this plant record has a lot of colchicum linked to it rather than Crocus speciosus. Probably confusion as both this and Colchicum are a type of autumn Crocus, but they are different genus. The flower parts are different and styles split, like in Saffron, which is also a Crocus (Crocus sativus). However, Crocus speciosus is TOXIC! I’ve updated the name in the encyclopaedia to Bieberstein’s Crocus, named after the first man to describe this plant, and might help tags in the future.
