Thank you 😊 I can’t remember how many years they’ve been here now, I mean it’s not many but it must be at least 4-5 years now. I think they were originally in a pot and I moved them one year to a bed. Lovely to see them thriving now 💜 @vegandmore @lilybee @Auricula @pelly

And another one, Crocus ‘Pickwick’ - orange bum bee 😊 #bee #bumblebee

My mistake - it should be ‘King of the Striped’ as three of the inner side of the petals have a more solid purple colour. Pickwick is virtually the same but all the inner side of the petals are more formally striped 🤓 #crocus #crocusvernuskingofthestriped

Another pot of crocus popping up. This one is called 'Pickwick', which is a Dutch crocus. Has striped white and violet flowers. 🤓. Planted 27th September.

@richard.spicer.7906 great picture! Tell me, is that horticultural grit? I keep reading about it but I can't find it in Canada under that name. Garden centres keep referring me to perlite. It really looks like little rocks to me...? Perlite, not so much...

It sure is @MelanieAt , strange that it's difficult to find in Canada. Perlite, vermiculite and grit are commonly used here in uk - each with there own benefits. I've just used it mostly for cosmetic reasons though to decorate the tops of my pots, although I tend to use it in the soil too if I need more drainage - saves me buying bags of the other stuff which is more expensive. Perhaps it might be commonly called Alpine grit or cactus grit? 🤔
