Dahlia 'Jescot Julie'

Morning all, the weekend is finally here 🤗 - hope everyone has some great plans. I'm off to Birmingham for lunch and a bit of shopping! This morning's new Dahlia opening is a beauty, and looking much better than it did last year - 'Jescot Julie' - a double orchid variety, and the petals are darker on the reverse side 👌🏼 #dahlia #dahliajescotjulie

You're right, the pics from last year were a lot darker and more striking. It's rather beautiful in it's subtlety and contrast though, so I like it just as much as it is. ☺

Couple more for my 'wants' list for 2016. I live local to a Dahlia specialist and this one just stood out as unusual and beautiful 😍 during my visit in late summer last year. Although it's a double, the centre is still exposed which is good for pollinators, and certainly had bees on it while I was admiring it 🐝 #dahlia #dahliajescotjulie
