It's taken a while, but Echium russicum has finally flowered. I don't think its liking the current spot in the garden as the plant and flower is tiny 🤔 #echium #echium-russicum

In my quest to grow Echiums, this is now the third one I'm trying 😂 - Echium russicum is apparently biennial although it may grow as a short lived perennial in some places, and more hardy than others. It has lovely red flowers on tall spikes, similar in style and shape to the normal blue flowering Viper's Bugloss. It's been in since April now, not sure if it will flower this year but it's already doubled in size. 😁

Never knew there was a red one of these 👍 I'd be very interested to see how this gets on, as I too have "echium fever"! I have the common blue one of these & it's a terrific little plant.
