Finally! The first Eucomis buds coming through. This variety is a dwarf one but has these lovely dark buds that open out eventually to a lighter pink #eucomis #pineapplelily #eucomisleia
Morning Rich , looks cute 😍
Very nice
Oh very nice Rich .......might have to invest in this one :)
It does Julie! 😍 @juliesgarden
Thanks @nej - hopefully this one will have some friends to join her soon 😀
Definitely Pauline - I've got 2 bulbs now in a small shallow pot, lots of grit and bit of silver sand mixed in to ensure good drainage, so easy to look after. Just pop the pot in the shed/garage over winter 👍🏼 @flof1952
Thank you very much for the info Rich :)
Going to be lovely I really like them. Would like some myself🤗
Oh that's a cute one!
Mine is doing really well Richard, but I have a dark purple leaf one that Geoff bought me as a bulb in the spring. It has put up a spike of leaves but no sign of a flower! Maybe next year?
Superb! Xx

A new mate for the Eucomis collection - Leia' small compact variety with purple-pink flowers. Planted in a pot 25th March 🤓 #bulb #eucomis #eucomisleia #pineapplelily
I never tried those. I should.
#Eucomis #plantlabel
I'd not heard of them before @MelanieAt until a couple of years ago, and now building a little collection!
@richard.spicer.7906 do you know how long they take to show signs of life ? Plus how deep have you potted them ? Lastly lol do you just cover crown or put a few inches of compost over crown , sorry to about all questions but really do like the pineapple Lily's , can't wait to this one when you've grown it 🌷🌺🌹
Good question and one I have debated - they can be planted fairly deep and I have covered crown in the past and planted about 10-15cm deep, but for now to give this newbie a little wake up (and that it's still cold in my garage) I've left crown uncovered. Hoping to just get the roots going on this one for a couple of weeks and will then put the rest of the compost in over the top. Really paranoid about rotting as this was my only bulb for this variety. For my other one though it's buried!

I've got a third one too (still to post pic) - bronze red leaves variety 'Sparkling Burgandy' 😀 @Hut123456789
Oh I forgot to mention mine do seem to take a while to wake up! 💤
Thanks @richard.spicer.7906 , great advice 😉😉🌷🌺
@Hut123456789 👍🏼
A should have posted these next few pics a couple of weeks ago, but better late than never. Early September, Eucomis ‘Leia’ - foliage looking good (lots of it!), so I think a new bulb may have developed next to the other two already in the pot 😄 #eucomis #pineapplelily #eucomisleia
Love the tiny flowers on these 😍 gorgeous colour too!
