Fuchsia magellanica 'Lady Bacon'

23/05/19 - Elsewhere in the front garden, Madame Lady Bacon has begun flowering quite early this year. She’s been planted next to Geum 'Mrs Bradshaw' so they have plenty to catch up on now that they are both in flower together 😄 #fuchsia #fuchsia-magellanica #fuchsiamagellanicaladybacon

It’s a lovely one, and it’s actually hardy and shoots appear from the top as well as bottom so it will grow into a nice shrub size. It’s got very tiny leaves though, almost bonsai like 🤔 goes with the smaller flowers I guess @kez001uk

It’s a little harder to find @piggynugget but I finally got one at a flower show a couple of years ago. It should reach about 1.5 metres or so eventual size, as it’s a proper hardy shrub variety rather than bush one.

I’d better take up a front row seat. This could be very juicy 😉🤪

The #fuchsia in my front garden is back in flower, Fuchsia magellanica ‘Lady Bacon’. It’s not the biggest of blooms, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in numbers. It’s a shrub fuchsia so it will regrow from the main stems and get bigger each year. The leaves are smaller than others too #fuchsiamagellanicaladybacon #fuchsia-magellanica

I must look@out for this. This is the second time this variety has been brought to my attention and it’s absolutely lovely. I have the palest pink one but for the second year it’s been subject to the gall thingy. It’s days might be numbered ☹️ xx
