I bought quite a few snowdrops last year (many 'in the green', which is the traditional way of buying them) and quite pleased they have multiplied. I have the standard snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) growing in my little woodland area, but I bought a few select cultivars which I keep in aquatic pots. Most were one or two bulbs each. I'm planning to create a special sand bed later this year to sink the pots into, creating a good growing environment for them 🤓📖 #snowdrop #galanthus #newgrowth

👍🏼👏🏼 No sign of mine yet but I suspect that is because my soil is heavy clay...maybe not the best environment for them 😏

So, this happened this week 🙄

I think there might be more 😳😝 #snowdrop #galanthus #galanthusmagnet

Perfect 👍

Great picture.

Oh gorgeous!

@debs69 🤓

Thanks Geoff! 👍🏼 @geoffboston

I do love these I have hundreds all around and only 2 have opened it's like the crocuses 😒

Joan, it was like Christmas had come round again - I'd ordered a few nice snowdrops 'in the green', but each one arrived in flower - they were all so delicately packed in cardboard tubes to protect them. Totally didn't expect them to arrive in flower but lovely surprise. I'll share some more later 👍🏼 @joanboston

Oh that's a shame @kathy , they are beautiful - always had a thing for snowdrops since I was little but failed to grow them. Having done a bit more reading I'm a bit more confident in trying again. I think I will keep these new ones in terracotta pots for display rather than in the ground. I've put a cheaper one in the ground for now! 😂😂

Lovely specimen Richard👍

Thanks Ann 😊 @thomasrat3

So many different types remind me of ballerina dresses 👗
I think they would look great in some of your woodland areas laura - strange how they aren’t that easily available in the US - I have a couple more which haven’t surfaced yet, although slightly nervous that I might have lost them. I’m off to an RHS show on Tuesday so may get some new ones 🤭🙈 @columbiariver
I love them Vanessa, always been fascinated by them. I remember seeing tons of them on trips to the Lake District when I was younger and got hooked. Although this is the first garden I’ve had that I’ve got them established @nessas
