01/03/19 - Snowdrop Update - disappointed that there is only one flower on this Snowdrop this year, which is the same as the last three years, it’s not as vigorous as some of the others I have so will be keeping my fingers crossed it settles in soon. ‘Wasp’ is quite unique and has these very long thin tepals #galanthus #galanthuswasp #snowdrop #snowdropbed
So dainty and pretty
Such a delicate little flower 💚💚
Perfect name for it!
Gorgeous. I love snowdrops
Gorgeous! 😍
You already know I love these. 😉 @richard.spicer.7906 she’s beautiful and it sure is the perfect name for her.
Does it need time to establish?
So elegant. What a beauty @richard.spicer.7906
Some I’m finding are quite sensitive to being moved and to re-establish after planting @Kathy - I recently read comments from one specialist chap that now refuses to sell them ‘in the green’ as it’s actually quite disruptive to the roots and sometimes they never recover from being moved like this - but it does work for some of the more common forms like Galanthus nivalis which can always buy easily in the green. So pros and cons for both depending on cultivar.
@Kathy - I don’t think there’s any reduced chance of succeeding by planting dry bulbs as long as you get them fresh and plant them as soon as available in the shops in July/August - biggest failures are when you buy later as dry bulbs have dried out to much. Buy them quick and plant them immediately I reckon 👌🏼
Thanks again everyone 🙏🏼 and soz it’s taken forever to acknowledge all your nice comments @cyndi @rosegardengirl @pelly @carolecuttingitfine @joanboston @KariSamuel @alysha @suerichards

Just realised how blurry this pic is, but never mind. It was windy! This one is 'Wasp' - very unique flowers on this one which attracted me to it #snowdrop #galanthus #galanthuswasp
It seems quite tall one
'Wasp' - with extraordinary long thin tepals #snowdrop #snowdrops #galanthus #galanthuswasp
Gorgeous
Thanks Cyndi 😊🙏🏼 @cyndi
It’s wonderful Joan - not bulked up as quickly as the others, but getting there slowly @joanboston
It’s so different from the others 😍
Looks like the snowdrop called Grumpy, which just has the down turned marking, Grumpy with eyes!!
It does a little doesn’t it 😄 the tepals are much thinner on Wasp, quite wispy. I thought I had grumpy in another clump but I think it was just a one off marking one year @fisherman
