I had purchased this as a winter flowering species Gladioli in 2015 - Gladiolus carneus - but I'm not so sure. Anyone have any thoughts? Other pics on the internet suggest it should be more pink, whereas mine looks more creamy white with slight purple markings inside 🤔

My winter flowering species Gladioli is back (Gladiolus carneus) but this year I will try not to snap the stems by accident! 😭 - another South African native, and this one grows during winter rather than summer and then flowers around March time. It's not fully hardy so I keep it close to the house and bring it in on very cold nights. It needs to be kept completely dry after it flowers, right through the summer up to August when you slowly introduce watering again #gladiolispecies #gladioli

Evening 😀👋🏼. Another of my plant diary entries. I was disappointed this year with my attempt at growing gladioli. Feeling uninspired by the thought of more unreliability next year, I've decided instead to try some species Gladioli for 2016. Me being me and up for a challenge, I've bought this limited single species bulb at an exhibit recently. It's a South African winter growing gladioli that will flower around March to April time and I planted it in a pot on 27-September.

You should try them @RayB - byzantius is another one I have bought, quite readily available, although trying to read up if I should plant now or spring. Seem to find conflicting answers 😕
