I so feel like having a hot chocolate this week with all this horrible cold and wet weather - still, the Hydrangeas must be loving it ☔️😁☕️

Beautiful Richard. I'm looking for a couple of compact hydrangeas for a coastal garden. Is this compact?

Haha, yes strawberry milk does seem more appropriate right now 🥛🍓 - well the weathers getting better but not sure for how long. July and August have not been that nice really in the Uk 😒 @cyndi

I think it can reach a decent size, mines only young at the moment and it's already 3ft by 3ft roughly @susieg

Evening all 👋🏼, this hydrangea is blooming nicely considering it's in its first year. You might not be able to tell from this photo but it's less than 2 feet from the ground at the moment. Seems to like the partial shady moist spot where I planted it last September.

This needs to go into my wish list. Had to rethink one of my borders due to trees growing more this year which is blocking out the sun slightly, it does get the sun but by about 4pm in the evening it gets quite shaded. How high does it grow too @richard.spicer.7906 ??

richard.spicer.7906

Hi @Cazx 👋🏼, I planted this one in a partial shade bed, which coincidently is almost under one of my Laburnum trees. It gets morning sun which is then gone by about 2-3pm so it might be suited for your spot. It remains quite moist too (but not boggy), and occasionally I water it when it's been seriously hot and warm. Height wise, I think it can get as big as 2-3 metres if left unpruned, but I'm sure can be kept in trim.

And here's my other new one. All your pictures on GT of Hydrangeas has made me come to appreciate Hydrangeas again, and there are many new varieties now. Love the #foliage on this one 😍, it has a smooth velvet feel. This is going to look great in the garden next year.
