23/05/19 - Iris 'Andalou' was growing at RHS Wisley a few years ago, and it took me ages to find somewhere to purchase it and finally got a bit of rhizome a couple of years ago. It’s grown very well in the front garden. I had designed it to withstand droughts and only watered it twice during last years heat wave, and never any other day. They will need dividing I think after they have finished flowering, got quite a big clump now #beardediris #irisxgermanica #irisgermanica #irisgermanicaandalou

I saw this plant at Wisley in 2014 and fell in love with it. I finally got a rhizome online at the beginning of the year and it has now been planted - can't wait for it to clump up and flower next year 😬

Check it's not planted too deep or it might not flower. Can't see from your pic but the rhizome should be on the surface of the soil and south facing so it can bake in the sun.

Definitely, it's cut off the bottom off the picture but can confirm it is above soil level 👍🏼😀 - thanks @trees.p

It is lovely Pearl - not sure I got a space yet to buy it. I will eventually, but gardens full of overgrown hedges at the moment and I've already got a backlog of planting 😩 @fuschia

Know that feeling @richard.spicer.7906 ! We are doing the front garden but it is too boggy to work on, but I keep buying things to put in it!
