And finally Bearded Iris 'Kent Pride' - looks a beauty with the sun shining through it, with red-brown petals and lovely yellow markings on the falls. Have a great day everyone. 😊☕️ #iris #beardediris #iris-germanica #irisgermanicakentpride

Another Bearded Iris planted today 😁. This one has a lovely burgundy petals, with a yellow beard. I planted it using the same technique as my other Bearded Iris.

Should I cut my irises down like that for the winter @richard.spicer.7906 Sorry but not very savvy 😞😞

Hi Pearl, are they Bearded Iris? If yes, then this technique is only usually done when you are splitting big clumps and re-planting individual rhizomes. It is usually recommended to leave foliage on established clumps to help feed the rhizomes over winter. You can occasionally cut them back to say 5-6 inches of the ground but usually after they have finished flowering in early summer. @fuschia

I would suggest you just remove any damaged or dead leaves and remove any weeds growing between the clumps and leave them until next year now. 👍🏼 @fuschia

Thanks @richard.spicer.7906 I have not touched them since they flowered. It was the first time this year. I will leave them for the winter and sort out in spring 👍👍👍
