This is the second time I've bought these as last year they turned out to be something different. Narcissus 'Mount Hood' - another #heritagedaffodil - was first registered in 1938. It's part of the Trumpet group of daffodils. The trumpets were much more yellow when they first opened and are gradually becoming much paler and almost milky white #daffodil #narcissus #narcissusmounthood

Beautiful, subtle colouring 👌🏼

So delicate looking lovely 😊

How beautiful, so delicate

Oh gosh that brings back memories - my Dad grew these and a clump came with us every time we moved. Sadly I forgot to dig some up for my garden after we sold my parent's house (wrong time of year and just too many other things to think about). I really must get some new ones.

More daffs going in! This one has a lovely ivory-cream colour to the petals and large trumpet 🤓 #narcissus #daffodil #narcissusmounthood #heritagedaffodil

Planted 15th November

First daffs out 💛, just about managing to survive the fox stampedes that I’m getting regularly now. Some of the others sadly have been snapped ☹️
They are lovely.
Only Tete-a-tete out here at the moment💛
These are beautiful Richard
Beautiful .. , I find it the badgers with their huge paws that do mine Rich !!
Thanks Susan - they change colour as they mature. The centre trumpets are bright yellow when they first open but quickly start to fade to cream after about a week, till they eventually mature as almost white. @novicegardenlover
Hopefully not long now Elise till the others follow. I missed another clump of Jetfire which is also open, must have had my eyes closed when I looked yesterday 💛 @Auricula
Thanks Joan - I love them even more once they mature to white. They almost look like ice follies but they have a slightly different shaped trumpet. Will try to remember to take another photo once they have matured to white @joanboston
It’s annoying isn’t it Julie 😒 - just seems to be exceptionally bad this year, maybe there are more foxes in the area than normal. Not sure I could cope with badgers, so I feel your pain with those 🙈 @juliesgarden
@richard.spicer.7906 …definately Rich, although i do love the wildlife , I’ve found if I leave some peanuts out they leave the garden alone 😂😂
