Treated myself to this lovely Sweet Box last week, wanted a largish one for the new woodland walk that I’m building on the path to the polytunnel. Will plant it in the ground in the spring #sweetbox #sarcococca #sarcococcahookerianavardigyna #sarcococca-hookeriana #sarcococcahookeriana

The woodland walk sounds lovely. I still can't believe how much fragrance there is from Sweet Box, the flowers are so tiny. 😍

The berries it produces will self seed beneath the mother plant, Rich, so you’ll soon have some babies! The fragrance from the sarcococca is second to none in the winter garden. 😘

@richard.spicer.7906 One of my favourite plants. I have one by my backdoor and the fragrance is so wonderful. If I open the door when it’s in flower the fragrance wafts into my kitchen and stays in there for ages. Enjoy 😁

My neighbour has one out front and I took a cutting- but it hasn’t taken - maybe I should ask for a sprout from berries 🤔😊

Will take a while to get established I think, but can’t wait to start working on it Sue. The scent is wonderful, wasn’t sure which one to buy, but I knew I wanted a bigger one, and this one has slightly pointier leaves than confusa, and a hint of red in the flowers and stems. @lilybee

Picked this up at Wisley last week Sue, bit spontaneous but had always wanted one and they had loads of different ones in stock. There’s another one like this one with darker stems, called 'Purple Stem', or you’ve got the other species ‘confusa’ which has slightly different shaped leaves @suerichards

Ooo excellent, thanks Barbara! I didn’t forgot they self seed - I might have dug them up thinking they were weeds 🤣 - oh in that case I’ll look out for them and pot them up for anyone whose interested in one @jacaranda
