It's a chilly start this morning ❄️ was to cold to get some frost shots in my PJs 😝, so here's some stuff from the weekend that I found and need to identify. Does anyone know what this could be? I think this is a saxifrage and seems to be growing in an old rockery. 🤔

I'm sure it's a saxifrage, possibly has sprays of frothy pale pink flowers held 8-10" above foliage. Common name London Pride because it grew in abundance on bomb sites in London.

I agree it is Londonpride (Saxifraga x urbium). @fleurie Unfortunately the story of it being so called because it grew on London bomb sites is untrue. Another story is that it was introduced into cultivation by a Mr London. The name was already in use by 1727.

@tiggrx Oh well it's a nice story that I've heard hundreds of times over. My mum was the first to tell me when I was a child and she lived in East London throughout the war so I'll just keep believing.

London pride. Had this when I first moved here. Eventually lost it 😕

Thanks @fleurie @tiggrx @fuschia - will tag it as that, although looks like a spelling mistake in the database. Hope we get the function to update them soon.
