From the same plant as the previous post, here showing the small flowers that form, around 1cm long which are white, with some purple markings. The fruits are said to be able to float in the sea and remain viable for up to a year and is one of the ways of natural seed dispersion of this plant, contributing to its invasive nature #scaevola #scaevola-taccada #holidayfind #mexico #sealettuce #beachcabbage #beachnaupaka

I think this is Scaevola taccada - known as the Sea Lettuce, Beach Cabbage or Beach Naupaka. It has been used as a hedging plant here in a coastal resort in Mexico and grows in sandy soil or directly on beaches. It is not a Mexico native and has been introduced. The foliage is quite waxy and succulent like. It seems from internet research that it’s a bit of an invasive weed in some sub-tropical regions #scaevola #scaevola-taccada #sealettuce #beachcabbage #beachnaupaka #mexico #holidayfind

It did look lovely Terri, and I’m sure it could be kept tidy - although the flowers are not that showy. I really had to stick my head in the hedge to find them 😂. Are you near the coast? It’s definitely good coastal plant and can withstand salt winds @terrimclaughlin
