Tulipa 'Hamilton'

Well I thought I had bought 'Golden Apeldoorn' , but they ended up having fringed edges - which is definitely not right. Coincidently it's the second out of two packs now that came from Wilko's that were not as advertised, but they were so cheap. It does pay sometimes to pay a bit more from perhaps a more reliable nursery 😑. Anyway, they still look nice and I've done a bit of digging and the nearest I think they might be is Tulipa 'Hamilton' - not many sources I can find yellow fringed tulips!

Tulip planting time - I've been wanting some Darwin hybrids for a while as I read they can be more reliable year after year, and saw this lovely Apeldoorn yellow variety in Wilko's 💛 - can't wait till spring!

😊 @gjones - fingers crossed it will be all worth it. I think I need to give myself a new name as the 'Bulb' gardener as I seem to have amassed a hefty collection. My snowdrops have started to grow and I've only got a third of them created so far in the database 😳
