The mystery of the labelled Pachyphytum ‘Dark Red’ (as sold in U.K. garden centres) might actually be Sedeveria ‘Blue Mist’ - it’s been flowering for the last 8-10 weeks now. Mystery solved perhaps? #sedeveria #xsedeveria #sedeveriabluemist #xsedeveriabluemist #succulent
That’s lovely
Thanks Rach 😊 - they were selling these in spring as outdoor plants at the local GC, but it’s done wonders indoors @rachelbrooks
So so pretty pretty!!!🤗😊💕

Here you go @Soph1e - definitely powdery blue on the new growth and where the GC had been watering it the older leaves are darker in appearance. It has been in my polytunnel for about 6 weeks now I think, which I guess has influenced the leaf colour. The other thing I noticed is that the main stem is branched, I can't see its ever been beheaded so seems natural - is that normal for this genus? And it looks like it's forming a few flower stems too 😀🤞🏼

@richard.spicer.7906 if you have a look at the ICN listing for "Blue Mist" it does seem to branch. http://www.crassulaceae.ch/de/artikel?akID=177&aaID=2&aiID=B&aID=1265 Yours is a really lovely specimen 😊
Lovely ! Cant wait to see flowers 😁

Morning 👋🏼☕️ - bit late for succulent Sunday but was a bit of a busy weekend. They were selling these in the garden centre as outdoor succulents, but I can’t find any info about this variety on the web. So it might be just a marketing name. I doubt I can leave it out all year either in the UK. It’s quite nice and has definitely gone more red since repotting and putting outside. The new growth is coming through as a glaucous blue-green colouring 👍🏼 #succulent #pachyphytumdarkred
It does look happy and healthy 🤗
It’s beautiful but it most certainly is a marketing name. ICN either yours or @Soph1e ‘s flower we can work it out. 😆
Morning Rich 👋👋
I haven't been able to find anything on it, either I'm afraid @richard.spicer.7906. Still waiting for mine to even think about blooming - it's been quite slow growing.
@Soph1e - slow growing is a good indication of Pachyphytum though. 😊
It's certainly slow growing but I can't find a pachyphytum that looks right @Yollymac. Did you see the photo I posted of it next to my "Blue Mist"?

Beautiful! 😍
Lovely red flowers - which match Sedeveria ‘Blue Mist’ - what do you think @Soph1e? I think we debated this one earlier in the year #succulent #succulentflowers #sedeveria #xsedeveria #sedeveriabluemist #xsedeveriabluemist
Yes, I agree. Have long since thought this plant is Sedeveria Blue Mist. Beautiful flowers! Doesn't it annoy you when supplier sell plants under made up names..! 😒
How beautiful! ❤️
Stunning shot!
Exquisite x x
Simply gorgeous 😘
Thanks @Yollymac - certainly can confuse things but sometimes there are benefits. This one not so much, but occasionally you get plants registered in non-English names (German for instance) so they give them a separate marketing name in English to help sales in other countries. You'd also be amazed how many roses are registered with just codes with no marketing name yet as they are waiting for the next special event eg A new royal baby or prince or princess to be named 😳
Thanks Rach! 😊 they've lasted for ages too @rachelbrooks
Aw, thanks Carole 😊🙏🏼 @carolecuttingitfine
Thank you lovely 😊 @clipperty
Aw, thanks Elaine, and such a lovely red colouring too ❤️ @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
I think that this could be a 'Blue Mist' @richard.spicer.7906. Beautiful flowers!
