What's going wrong? It seemed healthy, set fruit and died!

Welcome to GT Richard ☺ Could it be vine weevil or sitting in soil that is too wet?

We do have vine weevil but it's in a pot. How would I check?

Vine weevils love pots, if you give the plant a gentle pull from the base and it feels like it will come out then you've probably got vine weevil larvae eating the roots, or just tip the plant out of the pot (into a wheelbarrow or something to keep the soil from escaping) and search through the soil for the grubs, if you have them then you need to get rid of the soil or they'll just find something else to eat @Rick3021 , I also think that blueberry like ericaceous soil. Good luck 👍🏼

Well I was expecting it to come out but no, it's firmly planted. We used ericaceous compost mixed with garden soil so maybe we need the add something to increase acidity. Thanks for your help.
