Protip - rubbing scented geranium leaves on your fingers after picking up a garter snake barehanded will help get rid of the nasty scent. 😉
@gjones lol We found a really big one (almost 2.5 ft long!) and my kids really wanted to see it. Unfortunately I didn't have my gloves on me at the time. We have so many snakes here. No predators lots of food = a VERY healthy population. Fortunately, I really like snakes, so long as they're not venomous.
