Hybrid tea are pruned in winter, February. If it is the roses first winter they should be pruned back hard, and less hard but still substantially after that. I recently bought a hybrid tea rose 'Simply the best' and was advised this care from my local garden centre.

When do I prune?
Hybrid tea are pruned in winter, February. If it is the roses first winter they should be pruned back hard, and less hard but still substantially after that. I recently bought a hybrid tea rose 'Simply the best' and was advised this care from my local garden centre.
They also do best in the ground, not near trees, because they have deep roots.
