That’s not edible ginger: Zingiber officinalis. It has an insignificant white flower.

@nej and @Annettenoosa are good with gingers.

This looks like it could be a type of curcuma

Thanks @nej

You're welcome Roslyn
@Annettenoosa @nej @brightcolours think I’ve found the label. Mine looks like green stripes not white. Maybe not properly open yet.
Very pretty!!
@brightcolours - The encyclopedia states that the hidden lily and curcuma are the same? Maybe this was changed before I saw your comment....
@KariSamuel yes I was quick to change it. 😊
I’ve deleted my comment now. 😊 @KariSamuel @rosegardengirl
#curcuma
@KariSamuel do you know if this is an edible tuber.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curcuma - According to #wikipedia most gingers have some part that is edible. #tumeric is the results of dried and ground #ginger. So yours very well could be, but I'm not seeing a lot of information about about the variety that you have. Obviously, you need to investigate the #gracillima variant much further to determine if it is safe to eat. Hope this helps!!
