@jacaranda you can flick back through picks and see when I got this baby way back and the flowers. It probably needs a repotting now.
Thanks Roslyn. The flowers are lovely. @sieveheadsarah what does yours look like? 🤔
Mines still very upright Barbara and I’m still waiting for it to flower, I’m thinking we don’t get hot enough weather though. @jacaranda
@sieveheadsarah yes, I think you’re right. Our climate is too cold for it to produce flowers. Roslyn, you can obviously keep yours outside all year round so what’s your average temperature? 🤔
@jacaranda @sieveheadsarah Our temperature today is 30° and very humid. Our winter temp usually doesn't go below 0° lol we Aussies use Celsius. Sorry to old to remember what that would be in Fahrenheit. Oh Google you are so good. Average Port Macquarie temperature is 65°F.
I’ve just Googled Port Macquarie. It looks and sounds like a beautiful place, Roslyn! Your climate is much more suited to the Pickle Plant than our climate is so I’m not surprised yours has flowers. I keep mine indoors and treat it as a houseplant although it could probably sit outside in the summer months. @sieveheadsarah do you put yours outside in the summer? 🤔
We also use Celsius here in the UK Roslyn 👍🏼 Fahrenheit means nothing to me 😂🤣 but we definitely do get down to below 0c in the winter 🥶. I do put mine out in the summer Barbara, but it comes inside at night 😀 @jacaranda

@janene
Looks similar
@lovestogarden Janice do you think this has right I'd.
This is the ID I have on mine. Once it takes off, it shoots new shoots way away from the main plant. Quite fun.
@lovestogarden yes that's what mine has done. It started with one shoot.
@Yollymac I have also seen this labeled as senecio stapeliformis what do you think is the right name please?
@rosegardengirl - a quick google search reveals that Sececio Stapeliiformis appear to be the correct ID. The current plant, Allotropa Virgata is red and white and looks somewhat different..
@Yollymac maybe senecio Gregorio I don’t think it’s in the encyclopaedia.
🧐🤔 Perhaps you will need a flower for this one.

Help me identify this plant
This is Senecio gregorii, a.k.a. Peppermint Sticks
Thanks @lovestogarden that sounds pretty impressive. I can't find this one in the garden tags encyclopaedia.
@brightcolours @alovealoe April or @Muzz67 Jacqui. What do you think this is?
I dont think pickle plant but not sure what it is yet 😆
Oh the latin name does look correct Roslyn! I know a pickle plant as something quite different 😐
@Muzz67 same here Jacqui , I have the other one plain colour but a bit furry prickly?
It's really cool !
@Muzz67 thanks Jacqui.
This is strange, because when I Google it, three different names come up for it: 1-Senecio gregorii (Peppermint Sticks) 2-Kleinia stapeliiformis 3-Senecio stapeliiformis (a.k.a. Pickle Plant). I have mine taged in the encyclopedia under #1.
Found it thank you @lovestogarden Janice
My pleasure.
Spread, don’t they. 🌞
