I've done this... exacto knife, slit roots into quarters at base of plant... keeping attached and spread them out. Or I sit and untangle some of the major roots and they all do fine.
@Brandy2066 did just that and it acclimated well. Went up one pot size only to keep it slightly rootbound and it’s loving it. @columbiariver whoa that’s insane. Would have loved to see that. I finally got its care right after killing two earlier in the season. I tend to my plants too often at times lol I can’t get enough of them.
@rudester1 oh I understand! My other half says that's all he ever hears since I first started this madness with plants in March of this year. "Have to get my plants in the ground", "captain, come look at this!", "oh my hands hurt" etc haha 😄I'm right there with you!
Repotting moms root bound spider plant. In very much need of new soil and a bigger pot. #rootporn #spiderplant #repot #rootbound
Oh wow 🙈 it'll be happy now👍
Um 😐 oh dear. She will be happy for sure in brand new soil!!! @rudester1
Spread some of those roots out.
Spider plants do like to be rootbound!
