@lesliecole49 so true! They smell wonderful and I've heard the blossoms are edible but I've never tried them myself. Ryan I just learned that #permaculture practitioners sometimes plant black locusts along with fruit trees in the same hole while the trees are both young. Then cut back the locust when it gets too big so it provides ferts and mulch for the fruit tree.

I'm collecting seed pods from my black locusts this fall for exactly this purpose.
