Looking forward to realizing a dream: a small shady back garden in 🧡💛🤍💙, that I wanted for so long and now managed to work on it finally.

... although it produced this new branch. I didn't know it was a mistake to prune climbing rose but it got tangled into the vine too much it was impossible to cut only the vine. So I'm not pruning it anymore besides some minor corrections.

...2 lateral branches... maybe it dislikes to be tied like this?....

This was such a glorious rose before I cut it this short (at waist length) last year, poor thing. I'm contemplating purchasing 2 more of the same ones now (cutlings didn't work last year) and create large triangle as they propose on gardenia.net

26.4.2022. The best picture I've found: I tried to train it in order to encourage lateral shoots, but it later didn't work out, as if this is not that kind of rose. It stayed undeveloped, branches thin, leaves small. Practically invisible. It was so much stronger last year Next year I'll fertilize more often and mulch much more and not mix with vine that took the light away. Maybe to purchase 2 more roses of the same kind to make more dense appearance? I tried with cutlings but nothing happened.

This didn't work (not really visible on the photo): top right rose and bottom left clematis never reached each other. Clematis stays small each year and besides, they flower at different times anyway.

Starting to train it, it has 2 branches on the left and 1 on the right so that is how I turned them. So much better than last year when I cut it too much, so I didn't cut at all this year.

I let the shoots grow up high since it is where the sun is. Leaving long bare neck but I don't mind since this rose is in the very background.

You vould also put something underneath this to sort of hide the bare stems

Yes, thank you, that's the plan. It is in the very background so everything else will come in front. I purchased a white astilbe and some hostas. Also I have passiflora that is still in pot, but I'm unsure whether that spot is too dark?

Teeny tiny #first-bloom, what had happened to the May - "month of roses"? Trunk remained bare, all side shoots died, and leaves on this top shoot are alive but eaten - this year all roses are practicaly barely alive. I'm so sad I was ill when they needed my attention the most. #advice pls

After early spring pruning... I hope it recovers! I feel winter pruning is better.

Time se s vremenom dobivaju ogromni grmovi.

Source: https://naturelux.womanexpertus.com/hr/roza/roza-svan-lejk-swan-lake.html
