Looking forward to realizing a dream: a small shady back garden in ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™, that I wanted for so long and now managed to work on it finally.

Isn't it too soon? It's Indian summer here.

Divided this one, and will wait for the others.

Could I divide it now?

How cold is your weather right now, and likely to be for the next couple of months. Could you potentially get snow/ice? I would personally wait until in March (for UK for dividing). It really depends how light your soil is, heavy soil is worth waiting for, light soil is easier.

Thank you, @richard.spicer.7906 it is warm but it could get cold again so I'll wait. Does that mean that it doesn't matter when it starts shooting leaves (in that time) I can still divide them regardless? The soil is on the heavier side. Or maybe I could divide couple now and leave the rest for later.

I find that violets tend to be quite resilient to being divided, replanted and moved around. They usually bounce back pretty quickly.

#advice please, am I supposed to cut those gigantic leaves (fertilizer mishap) to make space for new leaves growing below?

Do I remove those gigantic leaves so that plant renew itself? (My palms are large BTW). I suspect that happened due to wrong dose of algae fertilizer. #advice pls

Oh I love these pure white violets. We had them at my childhood home.
