This simply has to grow in my garden. Arnica in an ointment or cream is fantastic for bumps, bruises and aching gardeners muscles. In homeopathic potency it's highly valued for the same reasons as well as being invaluable for shock. In its physical form as a herb though, it is toxic and mustn't be ingested.

Is it hardy and does it grow alright in colder areas?

Hi @annabel. I bought it from Ryton Organic herbs and planted it last summer. So far it's survived! It's originally a mountain plant so I guess it would cope with colder climes.

It's also a cousin of the daisy and the sunflower and they seem to grow anywhere!
