Mine is in full sun in a relatively sheltered position. I don't feed it and never water it. It can get hit by frost. My growing tip turned to mush this year but it came back with two growing tips. I've heard of others where the main stem dies and it sends out suckers from the ground. I wouldn't growing it in an exposed site but if you have a sheltered corner, even in shade, give it a go. Wholesale suppliers do it for a fiver.
